The YMCA of Greater New York was founded in 1852 as a haven for young men who came to the City in search of a better life. Today, we serve a much more diverse population throughout the City. Every year, more than half a million New Yorkers learn and grow through programs and services at the Y’s 24 branches.
As New York City grows and changes, so does the Y. This strategic plan, Thriving New Yorkers, Stronger Communities, spanning 2018 through 2025, outlines the Y’s next chapter and illustrates how we will serve the City.
YMCA Afterschool at M096 caters to grades K- 5th. the program will meet in person every Monday-Friday, from 2:20pm - 5:00pm. We offer activities that include; Leadership, Dance, Improv, Photography, Visual Arts, Health and Wellness, Graphic Design, Academic Assistance, high school prep, career development and much more. Our goal is to offer a fun, safe, and exciting learning environment that also caters to each child's social and emotional development during their extended hours in the school building. Each activity has a strong and meaningful SEL (Social, Emotional Learning) component. We have caring and qualified staff who dedicate their time and talent to each student.
